A visit to the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington Ohio this past week was a first for Team Sugar Hill. The facility, footing, accommodations and feeling of home was beautiful despite the palpable solitude brought on by the pandemic.
We are grateful to the club for holding the show despite the low number of entries. It was a great dress rehearsal for our US Nationals show string and a great time of camaraderie shared with our friends at Strawberry Banks Farm.
Another first was especially meaningful for SHF Assistant Trainer, Caitlyn Soudan. She competed in an English Pleasure class for the first time. She and H Barbary Reigns H performed as if they had both done it many times before. We were very proud of them and are looking forward to a long and beautiful show career for both of them!
Caitlyn also showed SHF Rolls Royce in Hunter for his first time in the show ring. He too acted as if he'd been in the show ring for years. He is destined for a multitude of victory passes in his future.
Mitch showed #PrinceHarry (Royal Nobility) in Driving as well as English Pleasure and performed exceptionally well in both. We are excited about showing him in both devisions at the US Nationals and have marveled at his maturity and strength this past year as he's learned to drive.
We were impressed by the WEC employees wearing shirts with this important quote printed on them. It was a warm and thoughtful reminder to press on through these challenging times in our country.
